Dinner With Friends

Dinner With Friends is back!  Every Friday August - June, except Easter, Thanksgiving & Christmas Weeks.  JULY NO DWF

Dinner With Friends is a signature program for Mission First United Methodist Church. It provides a substantial, hot meal every Friday night at 5:30 PM to anyone and everyone who wants to attend. Cost is optional, with a donation can next to the silverware tray. We average almost 100 people every week, and no one goes away hungry.

Started by Dwayne Melton in the 1980s, this program was run for many years by Jim Timmons, until his age (90+) forced him to give the reins over to Ange Duvall. Ange has resigned during the covid shutdown due to health concerns.  Michael Gavigan was our chef in charge, now all our cooking is done by Jennifer McManus and her crew of volunteers.  We are looking for a winter months person to cook for us!

We begin with prayer and the diners then line up for a meal that usually consists of a main dish, a vegetable, salad, dessert and beverage.

Jenny can always use good help in the kitchen and on the serving line. Contact the office, or just come to our dinners Fridays at 5:30 pm if you are willing to help!
